In May of 2017 the pastoral staff of pastoral staff at Hope Christian Fellowship (HCF). Pastor Alphonso Galvano (Lead Pastor) and Pastor Luis Diaz (Associate Pastor) held a series of discussions on how they reach those who may not be able to access higher Biblical education by providing it an affordable cost.
Pastor Galvano and Pastor Diaz agreed that HCF was filled with young individuals passionate about God, yet they lacked an understanding of sound biblical doctrine. For this reason, Hope Bible Institute was created in 2017. Our first session had one class with 12 students. The students talked talked about the class and more interest grew.
As discussions continued about HBI amongst pastoral staff the vision expanded beyond the local church at HCF and into the entire Rochester community. In doing so, both Pastor Alphonso and Pastor Luis believed that it was important to find pastors and elders from congregations outside of HCF to aid in investing and teaching the students. This allowed them to reach out beyond HCF and at the same time help other congregations by assisting them with equipping the saints. By God’s grace, this desire is being accomplished one trimester at a time.
It is HBI's goal to help develop the disciple into a servant-leader who is effective in their home, local church, and community. In addition, HBI goal is to help men and women deepen their relationship with God via in-depth study through critical thinking and practical ministry that relates to their daily lives.
HBI will help Christians grow in their relationship with God. HBI will create in their students an ability to see the world through the eyes of Christ. This will be seen by a growth in their maturity and a biblical world view.
